This page is so close to my heart. I worked with children for a number of years, always encouraging art projects in their free time. Multi-tasking, organisation, problem solving, imagination, decision-making, teamwork and common sense were just some of the skills regularly required.
Creating stop-motion animation with kids is great fun! They got their hands on story-boarding, creating artwork, photography, choosing sound and seeing their project come to live in iMovie.
The Heavenly Gonk was made with an 11-year old and screened in Denmark in 2012 as a part of the Great Animated Breakfast event organised by A Secret Club (schhh.org).
The Seasons was made with a super 10-year old. It was her first animation project.
Fish is a short and sweet afternoon fun with an 8-year old, inspired by bits and bobs found in her stationary drawer.
The Gymnast was made with Amy (5) and Lucy (4), a mega sister-team and keen gymnasts themselves!
I enjoy traveling and here is a small selection of what I feast my eyes on when out and about. These images were taken in Denmark, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Tanzania, Zanzibar and UK.
